Hey there, just reposting this as a blog post so it stays semi near the top but doesn’t block out other news that rolls out over the next couple weeks.
I’ve got a lot of feelings about this book! 160 pages, nearly a year and a half of design, writing, and drawing, and some exciting characters to boot! I hope you’ve enjoyed reading as much as I have making it! And, again, thank you so much for reading! Please, share with your friends and let them know we’ll be back for book 2!
I’d also like to take a brief moment to publicly say, “thank you,” to my lovely wife. I couldn’t’ve done this without you! There would be no Legends of Fomora without all your help. Thank you :).
I’ll be updating this site during the break with news for Book Two, but for now I’ll give you an idea of what we’ve got planned for Legends of Fomora thus far!
I have a working title, but I want to let it percilate for a bit before sharing. There are lots of ideas and a solid outline for the next installment of Legends of Fomora. I’ve learned a lot from the process of making Book One and creating Book Two will be a little easier. For the next few weeks I’m going to be writing whole chapters and having them edited. I’ll be working in my sketchbook on new concepts – all of which I’ll keep you posted with on my Patreon Page. I’ll have a firm launch date for Book Two once I have some actual pages finished and ready to go.
My goal has always been a printed book. I’ve already done some preliminary work for a printed Book One – some basic book design and a few quotes from printers. I’ve settled on a layout that will stack to internet pages on top of each other to make one printed page. So we’re looking at around 80 pages raher than 160. I’m waiting to get a “critical mass” of readers before any printing begins – so share with your friends! Book Two’s production schedule will be independent (well, as independent as it can be) from a Book One print run. So new comics will be forthcoming no matter when the printing begins.
Goal one of Fomora has always been to make a quality comic – and I’ve been doing that. I stayed away from too much advertising until recently so that I could focus on the artwork. I think now, with the first full installment complete, is a great time to push forward with some advertising to get new readers to the site.
Having never done this before, I’m not sure what to expect. I applied for a table at Topatocon in September this year. If all goes well, Chris Collins and I will be exhibiting there. I’ll keep you posted!
Wanta Fomora tee-shirt? A pin? A print!? I’m getting ready to put together a shop and have a few options for you to show off your hunter roots. This is a longer term goal that will come after Book Two has begun.
That’s what I have to report on for now. Watch this space for updates!
